Daniel Gervais is the Milton R Underwood Chair in Law 

at Vanderbilt University Law School, 

where he focuses on intellectual property law 

and the law of Artificial Intelligence 

 The Coexistence Trilogy is part of a broad project to understand how humans and advanced AI will interact.  Professor Gervais has written several peer-reviewed articles on the topic, including an article on how AI can be regulated, an article on the difference as a matter of law between humans and machines, and articles and book chapters on the interface between AI and intellectual property law, including this one and this one.
